Final Pay After Resignation in Nevada

Overview

NRS 608.030 sets the resignation deadline: earned and unpaid wages must be paid no later than the day you would regularly have been paid or seven days after you resign or quit, whichever comes first.

Employee Rights

Missing that deadline can support waiting-time penalties under NRS 608.040. Employees who hide to avoid payment or refuse a full tender are not entitled to continuing penalty wages for the avoidance period.

Practical Steps

  • Put your resignation date in writing.
  • Ask for the exact final-pay date and method.
  • If payment is late, send a written demand identifying the amount owed.

Key Statutes

NRS 608.030; NRS 608.040; NRS 608.135.
