Nevada Employee Rights to Wage Records

Overview

Every employer must maintain wage records for each employee showing gross wages, deductions, net wages, total hours by day for the pay period, and the date of payment. Records must be kept for two years after the information is entered.

Employee Rights

Upon request, the employer must furnish the required information within 10 days. Accurate records are often the backbone of overtime, minimum-wage, tip, and final-pay claims.

Practical Steps

  • Make a dated written request for your wage records.
  • Keep your own contemporaneous notes of hours worked.
  • If records are missing or incomplete, document that gap for any later claim.

Key Statutes

NRS 608.115; NAC 608.140.
